An analysis conducted by SecurityWeek shows that 405 cybersecurity-related mergers and acquisitions were announced in 2024. Check out the detailed report.

Attack surface management solutions provider Axonius has announced the acquisition of medical device security company Cynerio for more than $100 million in cash and stock. Cynerio specializes in securing medical devices in healthcare environments and Axonius said the acquisition will enable it to accelerate its expansion into the healthcare market.
Commvault to acquire Satori Cyber
Cyber resilience and data protection firm Commvault is set to acquire data and AI security company Satori Cyber. Satori will enable Commvault to help enterprises further support compliance requirements, mitigate risks, and control access to sensitive data. Satori also provides LLM monitoring and prompt protection, automated discovery, classification, and access management for structured data.
Darktrace acquires Mira Security
Darktrace has announced buying network traffic visibility firm Mira Security. Based in Cranberry, Pennsylvania, Mira Security provides visibility into network traffic, helping organizations detect and mitigate threats, and ensure they meet privacy and compliance requirements. Darktrace says Mira will help strengthen its position in the network security space.
Leonardo acquires Axiomatics and stake in SSH
Italian aerospace and defense firm Leonardo has acquired Sweden-based Axiomatics, a company specializing in zero trust. The deal will help Leonardo expand its zero trust offering. The Italian company also wants to acquire a 24.55% stake in SSH, the Finland-based privileged access management, secure file transfer, and encryption key management solutions provider. Leonardo will become the largest shareholder of SSH following the deal, which involves a €20 million share issue.
LevelBlue announced that it’s acquiring managed detection and response (MDR) services company Trustwave from The Chertoff Group’s MC² Security Fund. Once the acquisition has been completed, LevelBlue’s expertise in strategic risk management and cybersecurity infrastructure will be integrated with Trustwave’s platform and MDR service.
Orange Cybersecurity acquires Ensec
Orange Cyberdefense has acquired Swiss cybersecurity specialist Ensec to strengthen its team in Switzerland with an additional 40 cybersecurity experts. Ensec provides consulting, IT security integration, and managed security services, offering products from major cybersecurity providers.
Palo Alto Networks to acquire CyberArk
Palo Alto Networks has agreed to acquire identity security powerhouse CyberArk in a deal valued at $25 billion. Palo Alto Networks said the deal, which marks its formal entry into identity security, will accelerate its platform strategy.
Vanta acquired Riskey, a provider of real-time third- and fourth-party risk monitoring. The addition of Riskey technology into Vanta Vendor Risk Management (VRM) boosts Vanta’s capabilities in supporting security teams with an automated approach to VRM. Vanta this month also announced raising $150 million at a $4.15 billion valuation.
Zurich acquires BOXX Insurance
Zurich Insurance Group announced the acquisition of Canada-based cyberinsurance and risk management insurtech BOXX Insurance. The deal enables Zurich to provide retail and SME cyber insurance and services globally.
