Cybersecurity acquisitions

Fifteen cybersecurity-related merger and acquisition (M&A) deals were announced in the first half of June 2024, including some significant transactions.

An analysis conducted by SecurityWeek shows that more than 400 cybersecurity M&A deals were announced in 2023, with a drop seen in both volume and disclosed deal value.  

Here is a list of the most important cybersecurity M&A deals announced in the first half of June 2024:

Everfox acquires Garrison Technology

Everfox (formerly Forcepoint Federal) has entered a definitive agreement to purchase Garrison Technology. Everfox will leverage Garrison’s hardware-enforced security and software capabilities to improve cross domain, threat protection and insider risk solutions.

Formstack acquires Open Raven

Form, document, and eSignature software provider Formstack has acquired data management and security company Open Raven. The deal enables Formstack to expand its platform to address data management and security needs. 

Fortinet acquires Lacework

Fortinet has announced plans to buy Lacework, a late-stage cloud security startup that was once valued north of $1 billion. For Fortinet, the deal immediately modernizes its cloud security product line, adding Lacework technologies that are already deployed at 1,000 customers worldwide. 

NetSPI acquires Hubble

NetSPI has acquired Hubble Technology, a cyber asset attack surface management (CAASM) and cybersecurity posture management firm. The integration of Hubble’s Asset Intelligence and CAASM product into NetSPI platform will enable security teams to achieve complete visibility of their attack surface, and to tackle asset and exposure management challenges. 

Tenable to acquire Eureka Security

Tenable has announced plans to acquire Eureka Security, an Israeli early stage startup in the competitive DSPM (data security posture management) space. The deal enables Tenable to boost its data security posture management capabilities.
