Seal Security Raises $13 Million to Secure Software Supply Chain

The open source security firm will use the investment to enhance go-to-market efforts and accelerate platform expansion. The post Seal Security Raises $13 Million to Secure Software Supply Chain appeared first on SecurityWeek.

Open source security startup Seal Security today announced raising $13 million in a Series A funding round that brings the total raised by the company to $20 million.

The new investment round was led by Vertex Israel, with additional support from CCL, More Investments, and SBI Group.

Founded in 2022, Tel Aviv, Israel-based Seal Security uses generative AI to automate the detection and remediation of vulnerabilities in open source software and secure the supply chain.

The startup provides organizations with production-ready patches to secure dependencies, operating systems, container base images, and other layers of the software stack, without version upgrades.

Seal commits to a 72-hour CVE remediation SLA (Vulnerability Service Level Agreement), promising to resolve critical vulnerabilities within hours, or even minutes, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.

By tackling vulnerability backlogs, AI-driven development, and legacy codebases, Seal can completely replace complex solutions and ease the work for application security, DevOps, DevSecOps, and IT teams.

The startup will invest the fresh capital in enhancing its go-to-market efforts and in expanding its core platform.

“Modern development moves faster than ever, and traditional AppSec solutions can’t keep up. At Seal, we believe the security of the code we build should be accelerated by LLMs, rather than having it exponentially grow our vulnerability backlog,” Seal CEO Itamar Sher said.

“This investment, along with the increased customer demand, validate the demand for our patching-first approach, empowering teams to automatically fix vulnerabilities, maintain compliance, and deliver secure software without altering their workflow,” Sher added.
