Xona, a company that provides a zero trust user access platform for industrial operations, on Tuesday announced raising $18 million in a strategic funding round.

The new investment, led by Energy Impact Partners, brings the total raised by Xona to $32 million.

The money will be used to enhance the company’s product and accelerate development, hire more people, and create strategic OEM and technology alliances.

Xona is offering a platform designed to provide secure access to critical systems in operational technology (OT) environments.

The company’s Critical System Gateway (CSG) product is built to provide frictionless and compliant user access to OT assets while protecting them from cyber threats, including risks associated with a distributed workforce and third-party vendors.

The Xona Central Management (XCM) system provides centralized access and management of CSG appliances.

“We’re quickly expanding our team to support our energy, oil and gas, manufacturing, and government partners as they respond to the cybersecurity challenges associated with remote operations capacity,” said Bill Moore, founder and CEO of Xona.

“With new funding and strategic support from EIP, we are positioned for hypergrowth over the next few years,” Moore added.
