Zip Security on Monday announced raising $13.5 million in a Series A funding round that brings the total raised by the company to $21 million.

The new investment round was led by Ballistic Ventures, with additional support from Silver Buckshot, Mantis VC, and previous investors General Catalyst, Human Capital, and Box Group.

Founded in 2022, New York-based Zip Security provides an all-in-one platform for security, compliance, and IT automation that is tailored for mid-market and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that lack dedicated security teams.

According to Zip, its solution can also fit the needs of large enterprises that aim to simplify and scale their security programs.

The solution helps organizations implement security best practices and achieve compliance, as well as manage their IT infrastructure, reducing services overhead and costs.

Zip’s platform supports integrations with services from known providers, such as CrowdStrike, Google, Jamf, Microsoft, Okta, and others.

The company will use the new funding to expand its engineering and go-to-market teams, integrate additional third-party tools with its platform, and increase its presence in key sectors, including defense, finance, health, and software.

“Cybersecurity shouldn’t be a luxury only big businesses can afford. We believe modern security should be automated, accessible, and cost-effective. We’re on a mission to give businesses the automation to easily set up, manage, and improve their security – without needing a team of experts,” Zip Security co-founder and CEO Josh Zweig said.
